Catcher Throws
Catcher Throws
Catcher Throws assist with back leg drive.
We begin in a normal catcher’s stance, with both feet facing the target.
With our hands centered, we quickly explode out of the crouch, bringing the feet from square to inline with the target.
Finally, we plant off the back foot and drive the lower body forward, as if we were throwing a runner out at second base.
The goal with this drill is to, again, create an environment for the legs to be strong and explosive so the athlete feels what it’s like to deliver the baseball with their lower half and not their upper body.
