Shot Put Throws
Shot Put Throws
Shot Put Throws are a back leg drive drill.
Much like the traditional track & field event, we set up by facing away from our target with all of our weight on our back leg.
The drill begins with a small hop backwards towards the target.
As we hop, our back foot turns to the parallel, or grounded, position and we uncoil the upper body, delivering the ball.
The goal of this drill is to make the athlete feel what it’s like to stay strong & athletic on their back leg and develop a good explosive push down the mound.
