RDL Leg Lifts

RDL Leg Lifts

RDL Leg Lifts are a balance drill.

We start by putting a baseball on the ground in front of our back foot.

Next we balance on our back foot holding the front leg in our pitching leg lift position.

We then swing the front leg back behind us and reach down to pick up the baseball.

Attempt to keep the back flat, and not curved, throughout the drill.

After we pick up the ball we return to our pitching leg lift position and deliver the ball.

The goal with this drill is to test our vertical balance by incorporating downward energy into our movement pattern.

Moving the head and breaking the eyeline is a great test of an athlete’s ability to balance.
